Bavuma Resigns from Power

President of Tumaini University Dar es salaam College Students Organization (TUSO- DARCo) Evade Bavuma, has resigned due to corruption scandals comprising him, the retired minister for sports and social affairs, Suleman Adam and the deputy minister Fatma Hassan.
Bavuma reached the decision on the college baraza held at Mwenge campus today where students asked a lot of questions concerning the welcome first year bush probe committee report read by its chairperson, Mario Nyalusi.
According to the report the retired president is accused of privately receiving five hundred thousand shillings as advertisement payments done by Airtel Company during the bush event. From the money two hundred and fifty thousand had to be deposited into TUSO-DARCo account and the remaining to cover payments of the Airtel ambassadors to the college.
The report however declared excessive use of money as it argued that more than seven hundred thousand have been excessively used in which it required the retired minister Suleman Adam and his deputy minister Fatma Hassan to bare responsible for the refunding of the embezzled money.
Both the accused denied the accusations asking the committee to prove the matters by bringing out supporting documents such as written evidence from where it obtained its data.
Following the resignation, TUSODARCo has been put under the supervision of the Speaker of the parliament, Sebastian Kolowa whereas the parliament shall form a transitional government to run the governmental matters till the general election expected to be done in March this year.

Comittee: Suleman should bring back TUSODARCo's Money

The Tumaini University Dar es salaam College Baraza is expected to take part on Thursday this week.
Speaker of the Tumaini University Dar es salaam college Students organization (TUSO-DARCo) Sebastian Kolowa, said this on the parliamentary meeting held at Kinondoni campus recently.
According to the speaker among the issues which are going to be discussed on the day are as all matters concerning students academic and social affairs at the college but more discussion shall be concerning the bash investigation report presented on the parliament last week.
The parliamentary elected committee comprised with five members discovered that there had been with more than seven hundred thousand poorly used on the bash held at Coco beach while students attended get poor services contrary to what the minister promised to offer. The committee argued the minister to bare responsibility for the embezzlement.

TEA Donates Teaching and Practical Equipments for TUDARCo

Tumaini University Dar es salaam Colege (TUDARCo), department of mass communication has recently received a donation of a set of professional camera equipments from the Tanzania Education Authority (TEA).
This has been given out on a confirmation letter to the provost in 13 December this year by Ajuaye Mdegela on behalf of the then head of mass communication department, Nancy Mwendamseke.
On the letter, the then acting head of the department, declared to the provost that;
“I, on behalf of the then head of mass communication department, Nancy Mwendamseke received video equipments from the supplier with the witness of TEA official, Kaguo at Mwenge campus”. He proved.
The then acting head of the department added that to the confirmation time the donated equipments were already in use of teaching and practical at Mikocheni campus arguing that it was a step ahead in the advancement of the mass communication department as he posed;
“To Us this is a step ahead as we have a long way to go to what will be called mass communication department teaching studios, laboratories, and newsrooms”. Mdegela argued.
For his part, TUSODARCo president Evade Bavuma told Mtei Updates that it was a step further arguing that if the facilities shall be well used students shall enjoy their studies especially during practicals.
He further thanked TEA for its support calling for other governmental and private stakeholders to invest on education as according to him “with the current advancement of science and technology nothing shall be achieved without education.”
Meanwhile Gerald Kitalima, a third year student in broadcasting studies appreciated the effort being made by the department posing that it could help them studying practically paving a way of experience thus making it simple to experience works to where they will be employed after completing studies.
